Newsletter subscribers

When you subscribe we store your email address, your first name if you give it, your language, the form you used, and how you reached the site (the referring website, the first page you landed on, and a channel label such as "search" or "AI assistant").

We use this to send Market Pulse in your language and to understand which pages and channels bring readers. We do not sell or rent the list, and we do not use it for advertising.

The list is held by our newsletter provider, Buttondown (USA). The provider may record whether an email is opened and which links are clicked. If the provider cannot accept a signup, the same details are kept in our server logs (Google Cloud, deleted after 30 days) so the signup can be completed.

Contact requests

If you write to us by email, we use your message and address only to reply. The site has no contact form and no call booking.

Visiting the website

Like any web server, ours logs technical data for each request (IP address, browser type, page, time), to keep the site secure and to block abuse. The site runs on Google Cloud (Belgium) behind Cloudflare.

We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. To attribute signups, the site keeps a random session identifier in your browser's session storage; it is deleted when you close the tab. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.

Where data is processed

Some of the providers above are based in the USA or process data there. We rely on their contractual data-protection commitments for these transfers.

How long we keep it

Subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe, and deleted on request. Contact requests are kept as ordinary correspondence. Server logs are deleted automatically after the providers' standard retention periods (about 30 days).

Your rights

Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can ask at any time to see, correct or delete your data by writing to . You can also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
