ValIndex Research analysed all 76,761 seat transfers between Swiss cantons since 2016. Between 2020 and 2024, Herisau received 9.6% of all moves in which a company changed its name, purpose and officers on the same day; after 1 January 2025 the flow stopped. Low taxes, by contrast, do not make companies move on balance.

ValIndex Research analysed all 19,710 public-contract awards published on simap.ch since January 2025, worth CHF 47 billion. One tender in ten drew a single bid, against four in ten in the EU; CHF 4.5 billion was awarded without a tender to incumbents or sole suppliers.
