Before Stryker closed on ZuriMED, CHF 21.4 million of its assets moved to a sister company
Stryker announced on 26 October 2026 that it had completed its acquisition of ZuriMED Technologies AG of Zurich, developer of the FiberLocker system for rotator-cuff repair, two months after signing on 31 August. Under a contract dated 21 October 2026 and published in the SOGC on 26 October, ZuriMED transferred assets of CHF 21.4 million to SpineCo AG of Zurich, with no consideration.
SMART Holding AG, owned by Schweizer Treuhand Holding of Steinhausen, completed the purchase of Streicher & Brotschin Treuhand AG, Streicher & Brotschin Revision AG and AEQUITAS AG of Basel, announced on 27 October 2026. Streicher & Brotschin has provided fiduciary, tax and audit services since 1927; its directors Charles Tissier and Michel Rohrer keep a stake.

Stryker's purchase came without CHF 21.4 million. Stryker completed its purchase of ZuriMED, the Zurich maker of a rotator-cuff implant, on 26 October. The same day the register published a transfer, dated 21 October, of CHF 21.4 million of ZuriMED's assets to a company called SpineCo, for nothing in return.
A Basel firm from 1927 picks its successor. Streicher & Brotschin, a fiduciary and audit practice, sold to SMART, whose own new owner, Schweizer Treuhand Holding, arrived at the start of October. The two Basel directors stay on the board and keep a stake.
Large owners sold what they no longer use. ABB sold its 250,000 m² reserve site in Birr to Green, which will build data centres there. Roche sold its Rocephin antibiotic in more than 80 markets to DKSH, about CHF 61 million of sales. Swiss Prime Site bought out FlexOffice's other owners, taking its 33% to 100%.
A Swiss drug company buys its own supply. Tillotts Pharma of Rheinfelden signed on 23 October to buy the plant in Gronau, Germany, that makes its gastroenterology drug Asacol, from the Aenova group. It plans to invest EUR 23 million there, and the plant's 280 staff will join Tillotts' 370. Owning the plant puts production volumes and quality in its own hands.
Money for a Basel start-up that tests drugs on simulated patients. Atlas Bio raised USD 12.5 million, led by Creandum, for an AI model trained on about 2 million RNA readouts from human tissue. It simulates how a drug behaves in virtual patients before Phase II, where about 70% of drugs fail.
What ZuriMED's owners kept before Stryker took over
Stryker signed for ZuriMED Technologies on 31 August and completed on 26 October. In between, the Zurich register recorded a second company taking shape. On 1 October Fiberlock Technology AG, also in Zurich, renamed itself SpineCo AG and issued shares until it had 491,206 shares and 26,770 participation certificates. Those are exactly ZuriMED's numbers, reached through its own increases in December 2025 and June 2026. The identical counts are what you would see if each ZuriMED holder received one SpineCo share for each ZuriMED share.
On 21 October ZuriMED signed a contract transferring CHF 21.4 million of assets and CHF 21,548 of liabilities to SpineCo, and the notice says there was no consideration. The register does not say what the assets are. The transfer was published on 26 October, the day Stryker announced it had completed the deal. Unless Stryker also bought SpineCo, which neither company has said, ZuriMED's owners kept those assets outside the sale. For a buyer, it is a reminder to check what has left a target in the weeks before closing: the register records it, and the release does not.

The Basel fiduciary, tax and audit firm, in business since 1927, joins SMART together with Streicher & Brotschin Revision and AEQUITAS. The purchase was completed and announced on 27 October; directors Charles Tissier and Michel Rohrer stay on the board and keep a stake. SMART now has almost 100 staff across nine offices.
ZuriMED of Zurich, registered in 2015, makes the FiberLocker system, a cleared implant that reinforces rotator-cuff repairs in the shoulder. Stryker, the US medical-technology group, signed on 31 August and announced completion on 26 October, adding the product to its sports-medicine range.
FlexOffice, founded in 2015, runs managed offices and coworking space at 11 locations in Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zurich, with 25 staff and an estimated 20% of the Swiss managed-office market. Swiss Prime Site, which held 33%, agreed on 26 October to buy the rest and expects FlexOffice to pass CHF 20 million of revenue in 2027. Closing is due in the fourth quarter.
ABB had kept the 250,000 m² site in Birr, largely unused, as a strategic reserve. Green, the data-centre operator based in Lupfig next door, announced on 26 October that it has bought it and will build a data-centre campus in phases, with waste heat offered for industry or district heating, plus commercial space and public green areas.
Rocephin is Roche's ceftriaxone antibiotic, on the WHO list of essential medicines and sold for decades. DKSH of Zurich announced on 28 October that it has bought the brand in more than 80 markets, where it had about CHF 61 million of 2025 sales. It is DKSH's second own-brand purchase since Bayer's Meliane in July, and came nine days after it agreed to buy NewBridge Pharmaceuticals for USD 390 million.
Inference of Zurich, registered in 2021, provides IT-security services and products. On 19 October inandon group of Zug took 150,000 of its 250,000 shares, 60%, paying with 1.59 million new inandon shares, 13.7% of its enlarged capital (published 29 October). The two already shared an address on Langstrasse, and in September Inference had paid shareholders CHF 0.60 a share by cutting its nominal value.
Atlas Bio of Basel trains an AI model on about 2 million RNA readouts from human tissue to simulate how a drug works in a virtual cohort of patients before Phase II, aiming to replace animal studies. The USD 12.5 million combines a USD 10 million seed led by Creandum with an earlier, unannounced pre-seed.

Hydrokarst Swiss SA en liquidation FR · Rope-access and underwater works
bankruptcy
The president of the Lac civil court in Murten declared the Mont-Vully company bankrupt on 20 October 2026, published 26 October. Hydrokarst Swiss carries out studies and works in karst, underwater, confined, contaminated and high-altitude settings, the kind of jobs dams, tunnels and utilities hand to specialist rope-access and diving teams. Its equipment, certifications and client list suit another specialist contractor.
Injector SA en liquidation JU · Precision plastic parts
bankruptcy
The Porrentruy court of first instance declared the company bankrupt on 21 October 2026, published 27 October. Injector makes and sells precision plastic parts, a supplier trade in the Jura's watch and medical-device belt. Registered in Porrentruy, it was run by its managing director Michel Hoff. Its injection-moulding machines, the moulds it holds for customers and the part approvals behind them are what a neighbouring moulder could take over without requalifying each part.
AW Systems SA en liquidation VD · Industrial doors and loading docks
bankruptcy
The Broye and Nord vaudois district court declared the Bavois company bankrupt by default on 16 October 2026, published 26 October. AW Systems imported, sold and installed automatic industrial and private doors, loading docks, gates and fences, and serviced them. Doors and loading docks need regular servicing, and the maintenance contracts on doors it has already installed in the north of Vaud are recurring revenue that another door or gate installer can take over, together with its parts stock.

Based on 6,023 SOGC/SHAB publications processed this week. M&A data sourced from Swiss commercial registry filings (1 SOGC), press-reported transactions via web intelligence (6 EXA), and startup funding from Startupticker, Tech.eu, and company disclosures (1 round). Company distress scoring based on proprietary multi-signal model across 113,000 Swiss companies. Register deal counts exclude merger and asset-transfer filings whose notice states that one owner held every share of both companies, transfers with no consideration and demergers. ZuriMED's transfer to SpineCo is therefore not counted as a register deal; it appears in the story because of Stryker's purchase. Inference AG is listed because inandon group paid with newly issued shares, which shows two different owners. Press items rejected on review: Migros's merger of its regional cooperatives (one owner), the Swissmem and Swissmechanic association merger, Swissport's purchase of GHI (announced in September), Gonet's merger with ONE swiss bank (signed in November 2024), EEII's letter of intent for Haute Capital Partners (non-binding) and an Objectway / FNZ item with no source. Akiden Ventures' minority investment in LTY of Sion was left out because neither its size nor the stake was disclosed. ecoenergy systems AG of Ingenbohl, declared bankrupt on 20 October, is not listed as an estate: its operating business is in separate companies, ecocoach ag and ecovolta ag. KKR's agreement for HOERBIGER's safety unit (22 October) and DKSH's for NewBridge Pharmaceuticals (19 October) were missed by W43 and are added to the October deal ledger. Forward radar is empty this week: the highest-scoring names were already bankrupt or showed only routine board changes.
